Job Description

The Norman Transcript has an immediate opening for a full-time Advertising Clerk. This position assists the advertising and editorial departments in daily responsibilities. Must be proficient in InDesign and have a creative ability for design. Must take direction well from co-workers and editors in the department. Must be able to collaborate with others, meet multiple deadlines, and be self-motivated.

Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Schedule and facilitate all display, digital and preprint ads sold by the sales team.
• Assist with management of national sales accounts.
• Layout newspaper ads and classified pages daily using InDesign.
• Work with Publisher to create sales & marketing materials.
• Coordinate with sales staff and off-site designers to ensure ad copy publishes as scheduled.
• Create specialty pages for online, in print, and the occasional legal or other advertisement.
• Assist Publisher, sales and editorial staff as needed.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8a.m. - 5p.m., occasional nights and weekend hours as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to multitask and stay organized; Ability to work on various computer programs (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop); High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must possess a keen eye for detail and be efficient to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Worked with InDesign at least 2 years.
