Job Description:
The Associate Attorney will take an active role in all aspects of case management, from client intake to final resolution. This includes courtroom appearances, legal drafting, settlement negotiations, and direct client contact. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in litigation and a passion for serving clients in challenging, emotionally charged legal matters.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in court for family law (custody, divorce, support), criminal defense (misdemeanors and felonies), and/or CPS defense cases.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Manage case files and deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
  • Attend and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist with emergency motions and time-sensitive filings.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to firm development.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
  • 1–5 years of experience in at least one of the firm’s core practice areas preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently while working collaboratively with the team.
  • Courtroom experience and confidence in litigation settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy and professional growth.
