Job Description:

St. John the Baptist has excellent part-time opportunities for nurturing, caring, positive individuals who love working with infants and toddlers as part of a positive and supportive team. The primary responsibility is to keep the children happy, busy, and safe in a nurturing, Christian environment.

Shift Available:

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 2 pm - 6 pm and Friday 6:30 - 10:30 am

Duties:

• Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote the social, mental, physical, emotional, and educational development of the children.
• Maintain and monitor children to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Feeding and providing age-appropriate rest times.
• Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and development.
• Maintaining contact with the children’s parents/guardians.
• Ensure the children maintain good hygiene and change diapers.
• Clean the childcare room to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
• Reports to the child care director.

Essential Skills:

• Good oral and written communication.
• Problem-solving.
• Working with others.
• A caring and compassionate attitude is a must.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Childcare experience preferred.
• Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing to possess them.
• Ability to pass a background check.

ADA Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
• Close vision is required for paperwork and computers.
• Able to utilize a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
• This role classroom-type environment which may require the employee to bend and lift 40 pounds.
