Title: Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: Essex County, NJ (Hybrid Onsite 2 3 days/week)

Engagement: Long-Term Contract

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Solutions Architect with over 10 years of IT experience to lead strategic cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both application and infrastructure architectures and have a proven track record in large enterprise environments, leveraging multiple cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Strategy & Governance: Develop and lead cloud strategies, architecture frameworks, and best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards and company policies.

• Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Environments: Design solutions that integrate on-premises data centers with multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless interaction between systems.

• Cloud Migration: Lead and execute cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of migrating applications and data to platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Solution Development: Collaborate with development teams to define technical architectures for new applications, ensuring cloud services, microservices, and APIs are optimized for performance and maintainability.

• Security and Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with security standards (e.g., IAM, encryption, firewalls) and industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA), implementing security controls across cloud platforms.

• Cost Optimization: Analyze and optimize cloud costs, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated and maintained while meeting performance requirements.

• Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in IT, with significant experience in leading strategic cloud migration decisions and a comprehensive understanding of both application and infrastructure architecture.

• Enterprise Background: Proven experience working in large enterprise environments, with a history of leveraging multiple cloud platforms.

• Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

• Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Security & Compliance: Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.

• DevOps Practices: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.

• Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, VPCs, and load balancing.

Additional Information

• Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Local Candidates: Must be local to Essex County, NJ, and able to adhere to a hybrid onsite schedule.

• Contract Duration: This is a long-term contract position with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
