Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves safeguarding critical systems and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while leveraging advanced Microsoft and cloud-based technologies. Based in San Marcos, California, this position offers the opportunity to work in the government sector and contribute to robust cybersecurity solutions. Responsibilities: - Configure and design Microsoft Purview for eDiscovery, data lifecycle management, and records retention policies. - Utilize Microsoft365DSC to implement configuration as code, monitor system drift, and enforce automation. - Conduct audits to ensure transparency, unified logging, and alignment with IT record policies. - Collaborate with stakeholders to map business needs to policies, provide training, and manage metadata mapping. - Standardize Azure Active Directory environments and perform scripting with PowerShell. - Oversee pilot and end-to-end testing, including disaster recovery planning and execution. - Facilitate policy adoption, including go-live processes, enforcement, and post-implementation monitoring. - Ensure compliance with California laws and government codes related to permanent and historical records. - Integrate and optimize security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Windows Defender, and AWS technologies. Requirements - Strong expertise in Microsoft Purview, including design and configuration for compliance purposes. - Proficiency in Microsoft365DSC for automation and configuration management. - Hands-on experience with Azure, including PowerShell scripting and Azure AD standardization. - Knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as Microsoft Defender, Windows Defender, and AWS technologies. - Familiarity with California compliance laws and government record-keeping regulations. - Ability to perform testing phases such as pilot, disaster recovery, and end-to-end validation. - Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including training and policy alignment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a cybersecurity context.
