Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Environmental Equipment Operator. You will be responsible for exchanging soiled and clean textiles carts between units and the Textiles department.

Job Description

• Always displays good customer service skills.
• Identifies and selects carts for delivery by designated location while following the established safety guidelines.
• Operates tram in safe manner according to training.
• Secures safety pins to couple trucks.
• Maintains the integrity of the tram equipment.
• Fill out a safety tram cart checklist at the start of each shift.
• Reports any maintenance problem or damages to supervisor.
• Wear a safety helmet.
• Uses extreme caution when moving trucks through patient care areas.
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Skills Required

• Valid Driver License Current Certification for Operating Tram (provided in-house)
• Frequent contacts with nursing, patients, visitors, and Textiles staff.
• Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to exercise judgement and tact.
• Ability to manage stress in a highly visible service organization.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers and other departments.
• Six months tram/forklift experience is preferred.
• Must pass physical examination: drug-free; able to hear, able to see, able to speak, able to ambulate.

Education/Training/Certifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Shift starts at 10pm
• Working conditions: Exposure to dangerous pieces of equipment. Exposure to soiled laundry bags and linen.

Pay Rate

• $17.00 per hour
