Fresh Hope is a residential treatment facility that offers a structured, supportive environment for adults seeking recovery from substance use. Our goal is to help individuals build the skills and resilience needed for lasting remission from drug use while respecting their privacy, dignity, and right to meaningful connection.

What you'll do as a Residential Substance Abuse Counselor:

• Implement daily treatment groups and workshops based on the clinical assessment and treatment plan developed by the clinical supervisor.
• Arrange referrals for health and human services agencies as needed
• Work with clients to help them identify triggers for relapse and develop skills to avoid relapse
• Use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to support clients in their treatment and recovery
• Provide individual counseling, lead workshops, and facilitate group sessions
• Develop long-term therapeutic relationships with clients
• Monitor client access to and involvement with treatment and other providers to help address barriers to treatment and the recovery process
• Maintain up-to-date and complete clinical records, therapy notes, and treatment plans

Our Ideal Residential Substance Abuse Counselor:

• Experienced: At least 2 years of experience working with clients with drug and alcohol/substance use disorder is preferred. Knowledge of recovery support systems and 12-Step Programs is strongly preferred.
• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, clinical mental health counseling, addiction, or a similar mental or behavioral health field is preferred but not required.
• Licensed: Must have one of the following certifications or licenses – CSC-AD (Certified Supervised Counselor Alcohol and Drug), CAC-AD (Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol and Drug), LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor), LCSW, LSW, LCPC
• Clinically Diverse: Familiarity with strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches, CBT, DBT, and motivational therapies is preferred.
• Dependable: Submits accurate notes in a timely fashion. Follows through on commitments. Arrives at work on time.
• Computer Skills: Must be familiar with basic MS Office programs and able to submit and maintain electronic notes.
