Position: Seed Distribution Associate

Reports to: Seed Distribution Center Coordinator

Classification: Full-Time, Hourly

Location: McComb

Summary/Objective Agronomy seed treating, equipment operations, and other duties as assigned by management while maintaining an attitude that promotes team work within Legacy and a positive image of the agronomy department and Legacy as an overall company and cooperative.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Complete all orientation/safety/customer service/agronomy trainings offered by Legacy
• Seed unloading of all types, bulk beans, box trailers, bags etc
• Seed treating and knowledge of all equipment used in process
• Full knowledge of seed treater calibrations
• Treatment inventory tracking
• Seed corn sorting
• Clean all treatment equipment and keep a clean and safe environment
• Timely and proper equipment maintenance, lubrication, and repair per equipment and legacy protocol
• Tank and dump cleanout and inspections
• Assist with seed returns
• Assist in directing Tenders to delivery locations
• Assist with all seed Inventory/Bulk Seed Tracking and Reporting
• Be able to backup Seed Distribution Center Coordinator in his absence

Requirements :

• High school graduate preferred with business/agricultural background
• This position requires a full range of body motion including bending, squatting and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and reach work above shoulders
• Ability to operate and obtain forklift certification
• Possess seed treating license or ability to quickly obtain and maintain
• Positive Customer-Service oriented interpersonal and communication skills required
• Ability to work well with others and independently
• Possess flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
• Ability to assist at other Legacy locations as needed on a short term basis

Miscellaneous Responsibilities & Preferred Experience:

• No overnight travel
• Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard
• Overtime as required
• Required to uphold LFC’s safety policies as well as Credit policies
• Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test
• Good computer skills
