Senior Tax Accountant -St. Petersburg, FL

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
• Solid understanding of federal and multi-state corporate tax compliance.
• Familiarity with fixed asset and depreciation rules.
• Experience in the insurance industry (property & casualty) is a big plus.
• Proficiency with tax software like Thomson Reuters, OneSource, and Checkpoint is helpful.
• Strong Excel and general MS Office skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A team mindset with great communication skills.

Description:

• Lead the preparation of federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns, including consolidated and unitary filings.
• Manage fixed asset tracking systems and apply federal and state depreciation rules.
• Handle tax filing extensions, quarterly estimates, and tangible property tax returns.
• Respond to federal and state tax inquiries and notices.
• Support the calculation and review of corporate tax provisions (ASC 740).
• Conduct tax research and contribute to process improvements and department support.
