About This Position Under the supervision of the Marketing and Special Events Coordinator, the Farmer’s Market Staff position is responsible for assisting with the operations and events of the Farmer’s Market. They will assist the Farmer’s Market/Recreation Assistant and interact with vendors and customers. They may potentially interact with city officials and local businesses/organizations.
The Farmer’s Market Runs Throughout The Year With Varied Hours Depending On The Season. Hours Are Approximately As Follows, With Some Weekday Hours As Needed
- 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays from approximately late April to late October
- 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from the first of June until the end of September
- 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays from the first of November through the end of March
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
- 12 to 18 months of related experience or training
- At least 16 years old
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities - Assist with general operations tasks
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, tents, sound systems, lighting, etc.
- Set up and take down signs, barricades, tables, chairs, and other related market components
- Clean the Festival Market area by picking up trash and landscaping
- Dump 50-gal trash barrels
- Work with volunteers or other seasonal workers
- Set a positive example and represent the Parks & Recreation Department well
Necessary Skills - Strong organization skills
- Willingness and ability to travel locally
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours for special evets
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
